
Emilie Draper is a partner at Draper Farooqi LLP and practices primarily in the area of family law. She assists clients with a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, parenting disputes, child support, spousal support, family property division, and emergency protection order matters.
Emilie has tailored experience representing clients in high-conflict family law disputes and litigation. She regularly assists clients in navigating complex parenting issues, financial disclosure disputes, support claims, and property division matters involving businesses, corporations, and other significant assets. She is committed to helping clients understand their legal options and works collaboratively with them to develop practical strategies tailored to their circumstances.
Emilie has extensive courtroom experience before both the Alberta Court of Justice and the Alberta Court of King's Bench. She has successfully represented clients at chambers applications, trials, and other contested proceedings, and also has experience representing clients in legally binding dispute resolution processes.
Fluent in both English and French, Emilie is pleased to assist Francophone clients and has experience providing legal services in both languages.
Outside of her legal practice, Emilie serves as a Director of the Northern Alberta Business Incubator (NABI), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses in Northern Alberta. Her involvement with NABI reflects her commitment to supporting the local business community and contributing to the growth of entrepreneurship in the region.
Emilie obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law and holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. She also maintains ties to the Faculty of Law through her volunteer involvement with the moot program, helping law students develop advocacy and courtroom skills.
